Nancy Wilson and Maisie Richardson
Nancy Wilson was born 20th February 1937 in Chillicothe. She was the daughter of Olden Wilson, a ironworker, as well as Lillian Ryan (a former housemaid). Nancy was the youngest of six kids. Nancy was greatly influenced as a girl by the music her father played and loved at home. When she was young, she already had a strong sense of her identity and the things she wanted to be. The choir at church encouraged her to develop the talent. In her early teens when she was 15, she got a spot on a talent show on TV and was able to regularly appear on The Skyline Melodies Tv Show while still in High School. She began working in night clubs around the similar age. After graduating from high school the 17-year old Nancy took a class for a term at Ohio's Central State College now Central State University prior to going on to become a professional performer. In 1956 she released her debut record with Rusty Bryant's Carolyn Club Big Band with which she toured between 1956 and 1958. In the band, Nancy released her first record with Dot Records. Cannonball Adderley urged her to go to New York in order to increase her fame. The city she went to was The Big Town, New York in the year 1959. In just a few months she had been singing at The Blue Morocco Night Club situated on Boston Road near The Bronx. A representative from Adderley's company heard her sing and immediately agreed to sign her. In 1960, she was signed to Capitol Records. That same year she released her debut single. Guess who? Capitol issued 5 Nancy Wilson Albums in 2 years. At first, she focused on blues and rhythm under Adderley's influence she moved away from R&B and began to embrace the torch and jazz genres. Nancy Wilson and Cannonball Adderley's collaboration in the year 1962 helped propel her into the spotlight as well as her hit Tell Me the Truth was made available in the year 1963. In the following year, she received an invitation to perform in New York's Coconut Grove, the most famous nightclub in America.

The actress appeared in a cameo role in the film as Korr Sella, on Short Wars: Forces Awakening in 2015. She played Chloe Winthrop in Netflix's original film The Kissing Booth Season 2 and 3.
