Winona-Ryder
Winona Laura Horowitz, professionally referred to by the name Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. The name of her parents was derived from the town she grew up in. His father Michel Horowitz and her mother Cynthia Palmer were authors and editors. Ryder is a self-described Jewish and descends from Ryder's Jewish father. Ryder has two half-siblings younger than her, Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder's family moved from Mendocino County to California, when she was just seven years old. The family was in a house that didn't have electric power. Ryder was a voracious read and often spent her time reading books as there was no television. Ryder began taking acting lessons in the American Conservatory Theatre in 1983, when she was 12. Her first role was a success on the big screen in 1986, at the age of 15 older. Ryder had to deal with bullying throughout her time in high school. She hoped that her career in acting would alter that. However, it didn't happen. But that didn't stop her making plans for her future. Beetlejuice the 1988 Tim Burton film, was her debut big break. Ryder was able to continue playing roles that were successful in several movies. In 1993, she was nominated twice in the Academy Awards. One of was for her performance in The Age of Innocence.
